Who do the Chicago Cubs miss most from 2016?

So taking a look at the many players who have moved on since the title season, I pose the question who do the Cubs miss the most from the 2016 team?

Dexter Fowler without question and Chapman a close second. Fowler was the last legitimate leadoff hitter the Cubs had, and the results showed on the field. More often than not, when he got on base the Cubs scored as in the You GO WE GO phrase came into play. I know it is cliche and everyone says a leadoff hitter only leads off once a game, but look at the when the Cubs made the Playoffs in 2003, 2007, 2008 2015 and 2016 what was the one thing they had in common? A primary leadoff man who not only set the table got things going. In 2003 it was Kenny Lofton. 2007 and 2008 it was Alfonso Soriano. 2015 and 16 it was Dexter Fowler. 2017 and 2018, the Cubs used so many different combinations that worked for a little while but never paid off long term.

Chapman is a close second mainly because when he came in teams feared him. YOu knew what was coming so it was time to put those big boy pants on and try and hit 103 plus. Granted he wasnt crisp in the post season, he was over used, but look at the Cubs closer situation since minus the one good year from Wade Davis. I would take Chapman back now in a heartbeat even if it meant we eat Kimbrel's contract

Going back from what I said earlier in regards to why I miss Dexter the most. With the cubs Dexter had a career 372 on base percentage compared to 339 for his career. Of that roughly 38% of the time that he got on base he scored 64% of those times.

Looking at the 240 games where he batted lead off Dexter reached base 147 times in the 1st inning is more than 50%. Of those 147 times he led off the game by getting on 1st base 98 of those times he scored. 62 of those 98 times he scored gave the cubs the lead and the cubs were 50 and 12 in those Games.
